In January 2005, Ghost Hunter Judy of
Southern Highlands Ghost Hunts and Investigations
spent a night in the World’s Most Haunted Hearse, Elvira, a 1967
Cadillac owned by Destiny Tours. Judy bid on an ebay auction before Xmas
to win the right to sleep there and is the only live person ever to have
done so.
Initially accompanied by Kelly of
Paranormal
Australia, they noticed strange readings on
their EMF meters and digital thermometers right from the start. But it
was when Judy was on her own when things really hotted up. Here is her
report.
Hi Allan,
Thank Elvira again for a great night. I'll mention the events that
occurred after you and Kelly deserted me.
I had a fairly eventful night on and off. My EMF detector was frequently
spiking and acting a bit peculiar as it would behave as if the batteries
were going dead (I have only used it twice and not for extended periods)
then it would spike for fairly extended periods. This happened quite a
few times during the night as well as while Allan, Kelly and I were
taking readings and photos prior to "lights out". I won't go into all
the small details, but will fill you in on some of the more tangible
events.
While the EMF was spiking I grabbed the thermometer and found a cold
spot of -4 to my right. This cold spot remained for most of the night
and only seemed to dissipate around 3am.
Late in the night I heard voices of two people which seemed to be coming
from the driver and passenger seat. I took some photos which were
inconclusive although did show a small orb-like object on the passenger
seat. I grabbed the EMF and found another cold spot to my left of -17!
As I reacted orally to this massive temperature drop (the rest of the
vehicle was at about 22.5) I heard distinct laughter. There were no
people in the vicinity at the time of either the voices or the laughter.
Although I was surprised by the outburst, I felt safe and tried talking
to the culprit. Unfortunately, I received no response.
I also was intrigued during the night to hear a tapping on the rooftop.
It seemed to go right around the perimeter of the car in a definite
pattern. It was getting a bit windy so I grabbed the torch and went
outside to have a look, thinking leaves may be hitting the car. There
were no leaves about nor were any falling. The tapping also stopped when
I exited the vehicle. When I returned inside the tapping recommenced its
circular pattern around the vehicle two more times and stopped.
I did catch a small green light on camera which I noticed running along
the long side window in an odd pattern. There were no vehicles present
so I am unsure of its source aside from the possibility of paranormal
activity. I also was surprised to look down at my feet and see them
encased in blue light at one point during the night. There were no
lights on in the vehicle, nor were there any external sources, had there
been it would have to have been coming from straight above my feet.
Again, I am unsure of an explanation for this as well.
There were many more small occurrences that kept me awake, but at no
time did I feel threatened. I felt as if as long as I was inside Elvira
I would be safe. The one feeling I took away was that I believe there
may be only one, possibly two, presences inside Elvira. Although, I do
believe there are many that stay outside and cannot get in for one
reason or another.
Elvira is definitely haunted. And beautiful!...make sure you tell her I
said that Allan.....very beautiful as well!
